Head back with us to Nashville for the 3rd annual Class of Our Own Summit created for female attorneys handling plaintiff class actions. We kick off Sunday evening with our Bubbles and Bites rooftop reception followed by dinner, fun, and music at the Bayou Keys dueling piano bar. Monday and Tuesday, we will hear from powerhouse women on legal topics affecting our practice and discuss significant issues that impact us as women in the practice of law. Don your best cowgirl outfit (and perhaps some bellbottoms) for the closing party at Lainey Wilson’s Bell Bottoms Up on Tuesday night. Along the way, there might be disco down dog yoga and what would COOO be without our signature big gifting experience? What goes with cowgirl boots and custom hats? Join us to find out!

This conference aims to achieve two key goals: fostering meaningful legal discussions and empowering women while promoting sisterhood. While we will discuss serious legal topics, including forced arbitrations, equitable relief challenges, settlement techniques, trial war stories, and more, you can let your hair down while connecting with other incredible women in our profession and building lasting and meaningful relationships. Attendance is capped at 125 so register early! As this is an invite only event (and we have a long waiting list), please RSVP diligently so we are able to invite additional women if you aren’t able to join us.

It is with much excitement that I welcome you back to Nashville to attend what I like to call the BEST summit of the year—otherwise known as Class of Our Own. YOU are what makes this conference different. Where else can you find this stellar of a collection of powerful women from across the country, specializing in various types of class action and complex litigation, who are literally changing the world day in and day out. The support and participation of each one of you create a unique environment for all of us to grow and be inspired through collaboration and sisterhood, which brought my vision to life and now continues for a second year. For that I remain eternally grateful!

Your attendance at this conference is a big first step. Now, over the next few days, let your guard down, speak up, share your highs and lows, ask questions, and make new friends. And don’t forget to relax a little, have a bit of fun (okay, a LOT of fun), and enjoy life in Nashville. My hope is that you will leave on Wednesday with a huge smile on your face, with new substantive knowledge that you can implement in your practice immediately, and with meaningful personal and professional relationships that will help you grow as the super woman and fierce attorney you are.

Some of my favorite summit highlights include:

We are delighted to have the Honorable Karen Caldwell, from the Eastern District of Kentucky and present chair of the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation, joining us for a tableside chat during brunch on Tuesday.

Trust me, come Monday night you will appreciate a delayed start time to engage in some self-care by participating in the yoga class, having a spa treatment, exploring Nashville, or equally important, getting some sleep.

One of the things I most look forward to is renewing friendships and building new ones. In this conference hall are very interesting women from all areas of practice. We are stronger together, and that starts by getting to know each other.

How incredible are our sponsors! We are so grateful for generous sponsors who make this all possible. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

And thank you to the distinguished panelists who volunteered their time and expertise in preparation of their presentations. Our panels are meant to be interactive so please speak up, raise issues you face, ask for help, and give guidance as to what has and has not worked for you. And most importantly, if you enjoy their presentations, please let the panelists know. And always let me know if you have suggestions for next year.

Yes, you know we might have a surprise or two tucked away in our boots.

On behalf of myself and Kelly Hyman, thank you for being here and thank you for fanning the flames and continued success of Class of our Own!

NOW, LET’S GO, GIRLS!
